Flood Recovery Specifics

There are several options for booking your response:

1.   WVMAW is a long term recovery agency that is an arm of the WV Presbytery disaster response.  We book week long groups for long term recovery projects, and have project mangers who lead and teach and keep materials on site.  Generally we book Saturday to Saturday, but most groups arrive on Sunday.  We are flexible in that many cannot stay the full week so you can choose how many days would work for your team.  The cost is $250 per person for the week, and we can break it down to daily working day rate.  The only cost you will need to figure is transportation and food.

2.    WVMAW can arrange accommodations for your experienced disaster recovery group that would work independently.  You would be responsible for arranging your own work projects centrally through Volunteer WV at 304-558-0111.  They can direct you to locations where materials are in place.  Please bring your own tools and skilled leadership.  You may be responsible for purchasing any additional materials and supplies you find you need along the way.

3.    Day projects without accommodations would be arranged through Volunteer WV at 304-558-0111. They would tell you where to show up and what you would need, and if you would be responsible for any cost.

4.    Accommodations on Friday night so folks can work on Saturday can be arranged through WVMAW, and work would be your responsibility to line up through Volunteer WV for the day trip.  There would not be a charge for accommodations.  You may choose to give a donation to the church to help with utilities, but is not a requirement.

We are currently booking groups in the locations of Greenbrier County, Webster County, Nicholas County and Kanawha/Clay County.  Call Joan Stewart at 304-846-2294. Or email joanandtim.stewart@gmail.com
